Minister Işıkhan makes statement on retirement and minimum wage

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan answered questions regarding the retirement system and salaries during a television program he attended.

"Will retirement conditions change? Will there be a new regulation in the calculation of retirement pensions?" In response to this question, Minister Işıkhan said, "There is no issue on our agenda regarding the retirement system or the calculation of retirement pensions."

Işıkhan noted the following on the subject:

"There is no issue on our agenda regarding the retirement system or the calculation of retirement pensions, but we are ready for any development that may come from outside, especially from the Economic Coordination Council, in line with the goals we have set in the Medium-Term Program and our 12th Development Plan, regarding the improvement of our retirement system and bringing it to a better point."

Reminding that the holiday bonus practice for retirees began in 2018, Işıkhan said, "We desire to continue this tradition in 2025 as well."

MINIMUM WAGE STATEMENT

Işıkhan stated, in response to a question, that the minimum wage is one of the cornerstones of working life that concerns millions of citizens.

Expressing that the minimum wage is not a process determined solely by the government or the Ministry, Işıkhan used the expression, "Hopefully, we will begin to convene our Minimum Wage Determination Commission at the beginning of December to determine the minimum wage that will be valid in 2025."
