Statement from Minister Işıkhan concerning millions of retirees: New formula for pensions on the table

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan made statements regarding the ongoing work on pension payments. Işıkhan stated that the goal is to implement a "fair and equitable" regulation that will cover all retirees.

Speaking to the Türkiye newspaper, Işıkhan expressed that different alternatives are being evaluated for the regulation to be made to pension payments. Minister Işıkhan stated that the regulation will be reflected in pension payments, saying, "We will implement a fair and equitable regulation that will cover all our retirees and reflect it in pension payments. These are our fundamental principles."

Referring to the statement made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the cabinet meeting, Işıkhan said that efforts are being made to create the financial means to improve the situation of retirees.

Noting that factors such as the number of premium days and age are among the important topics in the regulatory work, Işıkhan reported that, similar to practices in previous years, inflation and year-end inflation differences will be taken into account regarding the lowest pension payment.

Minister Işıkhan emphasized that the principle of justice will be observed in the regulation and stated that the work is ongoing.
