Attack on Turkish Ro-Ro ship off the coast of Russia: 'Carried out by Ukraine'
Four crew members were injured in a drone attack on a Turkish-owned Ro-Ro ship transporting fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey to Russia. The ship's captain stated that the attack was carried out by Ukraine.
According to the information obtained, a drone attack was carried out on a Turkish ship in the Black Sea. A fire broke out following a drone attack on the Turkish-owned Ro-Ro ship named NADHEZNA, which was transporting fresh fruits and vegetables from Turkey to Russia. Four crew members, 3 of whom are Turkish, were injured in the attack. It was reported that the ship was en route from Samsun to the Russian city of Novorossiysk and that the attack took place at approximately 16:30 TSI, 30 nautical miles from Novorossiysk.
SHIP CAPTAIN: THE ATTACK WAS CARRIED OUT BY UKRAINE
The ship's captain, Yalçın Şahin, claimed that the attack was carried out by Ukraine and stated that 6-7 drones were used in the attack. Şahin noted that they were waiting for assistance, that everyone was alive, but that there were injured personnel.
While the crew on board intervened in the fire that broke out after the attack, it was reported that the Russian Navy had difficulty approaching the ship to provide assistance due to the drones in the area.
