COLLECTIVE BARGAINING OBSTACLE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS

Civil servants and retired civil servants receive their raises according to the collective bargaining agreement. This means a raise approximately 1 point lower. According to SGK Chief Specialist İsa Karakaş, the civil servant segment will remain in the 15-16 percent range.

FLAT-RATE RAISE GAP HAS NOT CLOSED

The real difference is growing between active and retired civil servants. The 8,077 TL flat-rate raise given to civil servants in July 2023 was not reflected for retirees. For this reason, while active civil servants receive salaries above 30,000 TL, retired civil servants have remained at the 20,000 TL level. Other improvements made in January also did not cover retired civil servants.

EXPERT WARNS: SALARY JUSTICE IS DISAPPEARING

According to the statement made by Karakaş, if this gap is not resolved, within a few years, the salary of a citizen who has paid premiums for 10 years and a retired civil servant who has served for 25-30 years will be almost equalized.
