A new development has occurred regarding the 10-day broadcast suspension penalty imposed on Sözcü TV by the Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK).

DECISION TAKEN UNANIMOUSLY

The court issued a stay of execution regarding the 10-day screen blackout penalty. The decision was taken unanimously.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

Sözcü TV had been issued a 10-day broadcast suspension penalty on the grounds that live broadcasts from Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir had "incited the public to hatred and hostility" in their commentary.
