The reasoned decision for the aggravated life sentence given to Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter in the case regarding the death of singer Güllü, whose real name was Gül Tut, has been announced. Gülter's lawyer, Merve Uçanok, announced that they will apply for legal remedies against the decision.
In a statement on her social media account, Uçanok recalled that the Yalova 1st High Criminal Court convicted her client on October 9, 2026, for the intentional murder of her mother. Stating that they have examined the reasoned decision, the lawyer argued that the conviction was established without taking into account much of the evidence in the file.

OBJECTION TO EVIDENCE AND WITNESS TESTIMONY
According to lawyer Uçanok, the decision was based on the testimony of witness Sultan Nur Ulu, which was later changed, and a report from the Bursa Criminal Laboratory stating that no special substance that could cause slipperiness on the floor was found in samples taken from the scene approximately one month later.
Uçanok claimed that law enforcement officers who arrived at the house on the day of the incident made assessments that the floor was slippery, and that the public prosecutor who examined the scene also recorded this situation in the minutes. She stated that the testimony of her client's brother, T. Hamza Yağız Gülter, also contained statements regarding the slippery floor problem in the house and that Güllü had previously fallen for this reason.
Objecting to the evaluation of witness Sultan Nur Ulu's statements, Uçanok argued that the statements given by the witness after the detention process were given precedence without justification. She claimed that this statement was not supported by concrete evidence and contradicted the first three statements in the file.
Stating that the decision is against the law, Uçanok announced that they will file detailed legal remedies. Expressing her belief that higher courts will identify the illegalities in the conviction decision, the lawyer called on the public to respect the presumption of innocence while the process continues.
