It has been reported that drug tests performed on director Ezel Akay and his brother Eren Kazım Akay, who were detained as part of a drug operation conducted in the İnegöl district of Bursa, have come back positive.
The investigation came to light following work initiated by the Bursa Provincial Gendarmerie Command Narcotics Branch teams based on information that cannabis was being grown at Ezel Akay's residence. An operation was carried out at the address on July 22 under the coordination of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
It was stated that 22 cannabis plants, 1 kilogram and 144 grams of cannabis (kubar esrar), an active climate control system, and various materials were seized during the search of the house.
Following the operation, Ezel Akay and his brother Eren Kazım Akay were taken to İnegöl State Hospital to determine whether they had used drugs. Blood and hair samples were taken from the two brothers at the hospital.
As a result of the examinations, it was recorded that both brothers' drug tests were positive. While Ezel Akay was released under judicial control after his procedures at the gendarmerie, his brother Eren Kazım Akay was arrested.
