Viewer backlash forces Tuzlu Kahve production team to backtrack
A change in the broadcast strategy for the new series "Tuzlu Kahve," which airs on Star TV, has pitted viewers against the production team. The decision to stop uploading episodes to YouTube following their television broadcast was met with backlash on social media.
Following the second episode, the announcement that new episodes would be released on a specific paid digital platform and the subsequent failure to upload the third episode to YouTube led fans of the series to voice their criticisms toward the channel and the production company.
Upon the series' absence from the YouTube platform, viewers expressed their reactions through social media channels and comment sections. Arguing that the decision would negatively impact the series' viewership ratings, fans opposed the move with comments such as, "Why is it not on YouTube?", "Losing viewers just to force them to watch on TV..." and "Ratings will drop this way; it makes one not want to watch."
EPISODE UPLOADED TO YOUTUBE FOLLOWING BACKLASH
Backtracking after the intense criticism and reactions from viewers, the production team changed its broadcast strategy once again. The third episode of the series "Tuzlu Kahve" was re-uploaded to YouTube to be made accessible to viewers.
While the production team's reversal was welcomed by the audience, comments were left under the post such as, "That's better, just put it up directly without the hassle so we can watch it properly," and "Finally the right decision, otherwise they would have lost viewers."
