A German family of four vacationing in the Kuşadası district of Aydın lost their way during a nature hike. The family members, including two children, were found safe and sound following a search-and-rescue operation conducted by Gendarmerie teams throughout the night.
The incident occurred in the forested area around the Güzelçamlı neighborhood of Kuşadası. The family, who had set out for a hike to explore the region, could not find their way back due to the rugged terrain and the onset of darkness.
Unable to exit the forest on their own, the family called the 112 Emergency Call Center via mobile phone to request assistance. Upon receiving the report, a Gendarmerie search-and-rescue team consisting of 12 personnel was dispatched to the area.
Despite the darkness and challenging terrain conditions, the teams reached the family by evaluating mobile phone signals and tracking their path through the terrain. The German family was located during the night in the Otomatik Tepe area.
Initial checks conducted at the scene determined that the health status of the family members was good. The tourists were escorted to a safe area by the Gendarmerie teams.
