Alleged assault on doctor at hospital
It is alleged that a doctor at Afyonkarahisar State Hospital was assaulted by the husband of a psychologist with whom they had an argument. The suspect has been taken into custody.
It is alleged that an argument broke out between doctor K.P. and psychologist H.M. at Afyonkarahisar State Hospital for reasons yet to be determined.
Following the argument, it is claimed that a person identified as the husband of H.M. assaulted doctor K.P. inside the hospital. Police teams were dispatched to the hospital upon notification.
The suspect was taken into custody following the incident, and an investigation has been launched by police teams. It was noted that the administration of Afyonkarahisar State Hospital did not respond to questions regarding the matter.
Afyonkarahisar Medical Chamber President Dr. Alev Türe stated that the incident was not considered within the scope of "violence in healthcare" as it stemmed from personal reasons, and therefore they were not involved in the case. It was learned that the parties have filed mutual complaints against each other.
