Kadıköy Municipality has announced that the evacuation and demolition process has been initiated for a total of 6 buildings located in the Zühtüpaşa, Eğitim, and Rasimpaşa neighborhoods of the district, on the grounds that they pose a risk to life and property safety.
The municipality stated that the procedures are being carried out in accordance with technical reports prepared under Article 39 of the Zoning Law No. 3194. The statement noted that the emergency evacuation process has been initiated without waiting for a notification decision and that temporary accommodation support will be provided to citizens in need.

DEEP CRACKS DETECTED IN TECHNICAL INSPECTION
In a written statement made by Kadıköy Municipality, it was stated that preliminary examinations identified corrosion in the load-bearing systems of the buildings, a reduction in concrete and reinforcement cross-sections, and deep cracks. It was noted that these findings reveal that the buildings pose a serious risk in terms of static safety.
The statement reported that three buildings in the Zühtüpaşa neighborhood, aged 33, 41, and 53, located in a creek bed, were also examined due to the risk of flooding and water damage. It was conveyed that the buildings in question were evaluated within the scope of "mail-i inhidam," meaning buildings that pose a danger of collapse.

In the municipality's statement, it was expressed that measures and procedures for buildings under the risk of flooding and water damage are continuing in line with the letter dated October 27, 2026, from the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.
Kadıköy Municipality stated, "Our primary priority is to ensure the life safety of our citizens," and drew attention to the importance of completing the evacuation and demolition processes of risky buildings within the framework of legislation before possible disasters occur.
