An explosion that occurred following a fire at a workplace in the Ereğli district of Konya caused panic. The refrigerator at the workplace belonging to Ramazan Sılay, who works in the curtain business on 90256 Street in the Selçuklu neighborhood, caught fire around 11:00 AM for reasons stated to be an electrical short circuit.

Noticing the fire, Sılay exited the workplace and reported the situation to the fire department. While he was waiting outside and heading toward a car parked in front of the workplace with his neighbor, an explosion occurred in the area where Sılay was located due to gas compression.

With the impact of the explosion, the windows of the workplace shattered, and some items inside were scattered around. Sılay, his neighbor, and people waiting across from the workplace on the street tried to move away in a panic. Those moments were recorded by the security camera of another nearby business.

Fire crews dispatched to the area brought the fire under control and extinguished it. Ramazan Sılay, who was slightly injured in the arm, was taken to Ereğli State Hospital by medical teams.

It was learned that Sılay had opened the workplace a few months ago, and an investigation into the explosion has been initiated.
