Fire panic in Diyarbakır: 3 people hospitalized
Four people were affected by smoke in a fire that broke out in a 3-story building in Dumlupınar Neighborhood; a woman trapped inside was rescued by bystanders.
A fire that broke out in an apartment on the first floor of a 3-story building in the Bismil district of Diyarbakır caused panic. During the incident, which occurred around noon in Dumlupınar Neighborhood, those trapped in the building were evacuated, and 4 people were affected by smoke.
Upon notification, fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the area. Medical teams treated the individuals affected by smoke in ambulances. Following initial intervention, 3 people were taken to the hospital.
Bystanders also mobilized to rescue a woman who was trapped in the apartment during the fire. Two people climbed onto a container located below the apartment where the fire started and reached the woman.
The moments when the woman was rescued via the container were captured second by second by those nearby on their mobile phone cameras. The crowd at the scene watched the rescue efforts with concern.
The fire was extinguished with the intervention of fire crews. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
