House shot in exchange for a 'debt of loyalty': 3 arrests

In the Seyhan district of Adana, 3 suspects who had a house shot at because the owner owed 500 thousand TL were detained and arrested. Following the incident, it was learned that the suspect who fired the weapon, Ü.Y., stated, 'I accepted this job to pay off my debt of loyalty.'

In the incident that occurred on March 19, 39-year-old M.Ç., unable to collect money owed to him by O.K.K., directed 22-year-old Ü.Y. to the scene in a vehicle driven by 51-year-old M.E. Ü.Y. entered the apartment building and fired shots at O.K.K.'s home. The suspects then fled the scene in the vehicle they arrived in.

Upon notification of the incident, teams from the Seyhan District Police Department examined security cameras in the area and identified the suspects. As a result of an operation conducted at an address in the Yüreğir district, the 3 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. After giving their statements at the police station, the individuals were referred to the courthouse, where they were arrested and sent to prison.

CARRIED OUT THE INCIDENT FOR A 'DEBT OF LOYALTY'

It was learned that in his statement, the suspect who fired the weapon, Ü.Y., said, "I do not know the person I shot at. I met M.Ç. through my father. He acted like an older brother to me, supported me financially and morally, and helped me in the neighborhood. M.Ç. asked me, 'Will you shoot at this person?' and I felt compelled to accept this job to pay off my debt of loyalty."

INSTIGATOR DENIED THE ACCUSATIONS

It was alleged that M.Ç., who did not accept the charge of instigation, tried to defend himself by saying, "Ü.Y. told us, 'You wait here, I will go see my girlfriend and come back.' Then he went out and shot at the door of the house. I have no connection to the incident."
