Northeaster warning for Istanbul from AKOM: Storm expected

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has released its weather report and weekly forecast for Saturday, August 1. According to the report, no precipitation is expected across the city throughout the week; the weather is forecast to be predominantly sunny and partly cloudy.

According to AKOM data, the air temperature in Istanbul, measured at 24 degrees in the morning, is expected to rise to 29 degrees by midday. Temperatures are forecast to drop to 24 degrees in the evening and 20 degrees at night. It was reported that humidity levels will vary between 50 and 80 percent throughout the day, and the sea water temperature is 24 degrees.

The report stated that the northeaster blowing from the north will strengthen, reaching speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour, and may occasionally be effective as a storm. Due to the strong winds, air temperatures are expected to remain in the 28-30 degree range until the beginning of the new week.

According to the weekly forecast, the weather will be partly cloudy and clear on Sunday, and partly cloudy on Monday. Temperatures are expected to rise to 32-33 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, while partly cloudy weather is expected to prevail on Thursday and Friday. Throughout the week, the lowest temperatures are forecast to be in the 21-22 degree range, and the highest temperatures in the 30-33 degree range.
