CHP's Görele Mayor Hasbi Dede, who was arrested as part of an investigation into sexual abuse, has been referred to the disciplinary board with a demand for permanent expulsion by a decision of the party's Central Executive Board (MYK).
The announcement was made by CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre.
The CHP spokesperson stated that following reports in the press regarding the matter, Chairman Özgür Özel gave instructions, adding, "At our party's MYK meeting, we formed a will regarding the referral of the mayor to the disciplinary board."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Görele Mayor Hasbi Dede was summoned to testify on February 8 as part of an investigation conducted over a message allegedly shared from his social media account.
After his testimony, Dede was released on February 9 under judicial control, but was summoned to testify again on February 10 following an objection by the prosecutor's office.
After the proceedings at the prosecutor's office, Dede was referred to the court with a request for arrest, and was subsequently arrested and sent to prison by the court.
