'We won't find work if we appear to be CHP members' concern: 1,500 members cancel their registration every month

According to journalist Fatih Altaylı, the CHP is experiencing a significant number of member losses every month. Speaking to Altaylı, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Gökhan Günaydın stated, "Approximately 1,500 people cancel their membership registration every month. We investigated the reasons, and the picture that emerged is very striking."

According to Günaydın, a large portion of those canceling their memberships consists of people who are going to apply for jobs in the public sector. People are leaving the party due to the concern that "being a CHP member will create a disadvantage," especially in recruitment processes involving interviews.

According to assessments made by CHP officials, the primary reason for membership cancellations is the widespread belief that a political identity will create an obstacle in public sector recruitment. Günaydın summarized the situation with these words:

"Most of those who reach out to us to have their memberships deleted say, 'My brother is going to apply for a public position, a relative of mine wants to become a police officer. If we appear as CHP members in the system, we will be eliminated in the interview, we won't be able to get the job.' We are not looking at the numbers, but at the quality. Members who contribute and work are important. However, while memberships are increasing, about 1,500 people are also leaving every month. We investigated the reason; the vast majority believe they will face difficulties in entering the public sector."
