The 'Şimşek' debate within the AKP is growing: There are two separate groups! 'Neither the buyer nor the seller is satisfied'

Nefes columnist Nuray Babacan categorized the complaints within the AKP into two main groups. The first group is lobbying for a name close to them to be brought in to replace Mehmet Şimşek.

This group is seizing the opportunity to deliberately pressure the party from within. The second group, meanwhile, is targeting the minister because rising public complaints and falling poll numbers are causing concerns regarding the elections. This group is anxious about the future of their party.

THE FEAR THAT "THE NEWCOMER WILL MAKE US MISS THE DEPARTED"

AKP members, who are making plans to increase spending for an election economy in the event of a snap election, believe that Şimşek and his team are an obstacle to these plans.

Babacan stated that a group of figures within the party is experiencing the fear that "the newcomer will make us miss the departed," noting that these anxieties are deepening the polarization within the party.

The economic crisis and the high cost of living pose a major problem, especially for low-income citizens and retirees. While opposition parties bring this economic disaster to the agenda every day, the ruling party's snap election calculations are not holding up.

In her column, Babacan said, "Amidst economic problems and increasing complaints, polarizations within the party are also growing."

Concluding her column, Babacan said that the current situation within the AKP has turned into a state where "neither the buyer nor the seller is satisfied." She pointed out that the leadership struggle and election strategies within the party have become even more complex when combined with economic difficulties.

Babacan stated that doubts regarding the future of the party are increasing.
