Harsh reaction from brother to Foça Mayor Fıçı, who switched from CHP to AKP
Orhan Bora, the brother of Foça Mayor Saniye Bora Fıçı, who resigned from the CHP to join the AKP, has expressed his reaction on social media.
The decision of Saniye Bora Fıçı, who was elected Mayor of Foça from the CHP, to switch to the AKP has also drawn criticism from her own family. Fıçı's brother, former Gerenköy Mayor Orhan Bora, stated in a post on his social media account that the decision was unacceptable to him.
In his post, Bora stated that his sister was elected with the "votes of social democrats and Atatürk supporters," and declared that he would never forgive her decision to join the AKP for the rest of his life. Noting that he learned of the party change from people who called him, Bora stated that he had no information regarding the circumstances under which the decision was made.
“I want all my fellow travelers and the friends I have engaged in politics with to know that, from this point on, she is politically null and void to me, beyond the bonds of siblinghood.”
In his statement, Bora also referred to CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, stating that he and his family would continue on their path without deviating from the principles and ideals of Atatürk.
