Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP chairmanship by a court decision, made statements regarding the agenda at his party's Youth Branches Provincial Coordination Meeting. Kılıçdaroğlu sent a message to both the CHP and other political parties, emphasizing bribery discussions and a process of "purification."
Touching upon the debates surrounding CHP conventions, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Money does not change hands at CHP conventions." Stating that there is a difference between persuading someone and buying their will, Kılıçdaroğlu remarked, "You can persuade me, and I will say fine. But if you put money in someone's pocket without even listening to them and tell them to go vote for this person, they are not true CHP members."
Arguing that Turkey is going through a "period of purification," Kılıçdaroğlu said this process is not limited to the CHP. Kılıçdaroğlu stated, "We will purify not just ourselves, but Turkey. We will also purify the AK Party and other parties as well."
Addressing bribery investigations into municipalities, Kılıçdaroğlu emphasized that they are against the use of public resources for personal gain. "We do not want the sweat of the citizens to be stolen. We never accept corruption," said Kılıçdaroğlu, adding that they are open to debate and persuasion but will not tolerate bribery.
In his message to CHP mayors, Kılıçdaroğlu issued a call for resignation. He stated, "No mayor should hesitate to serve the public. But if they are spending for themselves or their relatives and still claim to be a CHP member, they should not stay in the CHP and must resign immediately."
