Mayor had been arrested: Resignations continue in CHP
Following the arrest of CHP Mayor of Görele Hasbi Dede, two CHP members announced their resignation from the party as the municipal council heads toward a critical mayoral vote.
The political agenda in the Görele district of Giresun has been shaken by developments regarding the investigation into Mayor Hasbi Dede.
CHP MAYOR ARRESTED
Hasbi Dede, who faced accusations of 'sexual harassment' due to a post allegedly made via his social media account, was brought before the court, arrested, and subsequently suspended from his duties by the Ministry of Interior.

RESIGNATIONS CAME ONE AFTER ANOTHER
Following the current situation, ahead of the new mayoral election to be held in the municipal council on Monday, February 16, news of two resignations that shook the Republican People's Party (CHP) arrived. Council members Hüseyin Gürel and Fırat İmat announced that they had resigned from the CHP with the decision they made.
As a result of these resignations, the number of CHP members in the municipal council fell from 7 to 5. While the AK Party has 4 members in the council, the number of members acting independently has risen to 2.
