Municipal council member who resigned from YRP joins AKP: 'We have come to an environment where we can serve more'
Uğur Gürsoy, an independent municipal council member of Düzce Municipality who resigned from the New Welfare Party (YRP), has transferred to the AKP.
Uğur Gürsoy, a Düzce Municipal Council member who had been serving as an independent member after resigning from the New Welfare Party (YRP), has joined the AKP.
A ceremony was held for his joining the AKP. Düzce Deputy Ayşe Keşir pinned the party badge on Gürsoy, while his membership registration was completed by AKP Central District President Buğra Alp Kocaman.
AKP Provincial President Hasan Şengüloğlu stated that Uğur Gürsoy's participation in the party would add strength to both Düzce and the AKP, saying, “Uğur Gürsoy has joined our AK Party family. I wish this participation to be beneficial for our Düzce, our country, and our party. He is a well-liked figure in the public eye who can communicate well with young people. He will serve Düzce under the roof of the AK Party. Together, we will work day and night for a better Düzce.”

Gürsoy, who will hit the ground running with his new party, said, "We set out on this path to serve. Now, we have come to an environment where we can serve more. I hope this will be for the best. We will do our utmost to provide more service."
