Remarkable call from DEM Party: Mazlum Abdi and İlham Ahmed should be invited to Turkey

DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan held a press conference regarding the agenda of her party's Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting.

Making assessments regarding the developments in Syria and the stage the process has reached, Doğan spoke about the new positions in Syria of Mazlum Abdi, the leader of the SDF—which recently announced a decision to dissolve—and İlham Ahmed, as well as their potential visits to Turkey.

"THEY SHOULD BE INVITED"

Stating that questions have been directed to her regarding whether Mazlum Abdi and İlham Ahmed will come to Turkey, Doğan said that both individuals should be invited to Turkey.

Doğan stated that as the DEM Party, they have made such a call before, and spoke as follows:

"People are asking, 'Will Mazlum Abdi come to Turkey? Will İlham Ahmed come to Turkey?' They should come. They should be invited. We, as the DEM Party, are making such a call. We have made it before as well. Of course they should come, they should be invited here."

"WHY SHOULD FRIENDLY RELATIONS NOT BE DEVELOPED?"

Expressing that İlham Ahmed might serve in the Syrian parliament in the coming period, Doğan argued that inviting Ahmed to Turkey is important in terms of developing relations.

Doğan stated, "Why should İlham Ahmed, whom we might soon see as a member of the Syrian parliament, not be invited to Turkey by the Speaker of the Parliament, and why should she not come? Why should friendly relations not be developed?"
