Statement from agency alleged to have sent participants for CHP event
Merss Production confirmed that it provided support for the member participation ceremony at the CHP; it argued that the work was based on a voluntary basis and that no fee was charged.
Merss Production, which came to the agenda with allegations that participants were brought to the CHP's member participation event in Istanbul through a casting agency, made a statement regarding the issue.
In the statement conveyed by journalist Sinan Burhan, the agency stated that it used its resources to support their close friend Samet Özkaş at the event. In the statement, it was argued that no payment was received from the CHP Headquarters or the CHP Provincial Presidency in exchange for the organization and technical support.
The agency stated that the work was not carried out "under the instruction of any institution, office, or provincial presidency" and that the support was carried out "on the basis of a bond of friendship and volunteerism."
The statement also expressed regret that the support provided was reflected as a "commercial or political bargain," adding, "We possess an understanding that does not act on instruction, but with heart and belief."
Regarding the member participation ceremony held at the CHP, allegations had come to the agenda that there were people in the hall brought through casting agencies and that some agencies sent hundreds of people to the organization in exchange for 950 liras.
Following the allegations in question, an investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
