Police chiefs in 39 provinces replaced: Appointment decisions published in the Official Gazette
New appointments were made at TURKSTAT, the General Directorate of Security, and several ministries through decisions signed by President Erdoğan.
According to the appointment decisions published in the Official Gazette with the signature of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Cihat Erce İşbaşar has been appointed as the Vice President of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).
With the decision, TURKSTAT Vice President Furkan Metin was removed from his post. With Cihat Erce İşbaşar replacing Metin, a new assignment has been made in the institution's management.
An appointment decision was also published in the field of foreign affairs. Selin Özaydın, Deputy General Manager of International Organizations, has been appointed as Turkey's Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya.
One of the most comprehensive changes in the decisions included in the Official Gazette was made at the General Directorate of Security. A total of 69 personnel changes were made in the central and provincial organizations of the General Directorate of Security.
- - Head of Security Department Emrullah Gölcük, Head of Witness Protection Department İsmail Hakkı Günay, and Chief Police Inspectors Ali Karabağ and Selçuk Doğuş were appointed as Deputy General Directors of Security.
- - Samsun Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Arıbaş was assigned to İzmir, Van Provincial Police Chief Murat Mutlu to Diyarbakır, and Kocaeli Provincial Police Chief Faruk Karaduman to Aydın.
- - Head of Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department Serdar Büyükleblebici became the Gaziantep Provincial Police Chief, and Head of Personnel Department Ali Süllü became the Denizli Provincial Police Chief.
- - Head of Anti-Terrorism Department Yusuf Topcan was appointed to Yalova, and Head of Foreign Relations Department Gökhan Demirtola to Afyonkarahisar.
Some provincial police chiefs were reassigned to the General Directorate of Security headquarters. In this context, changes occurred in numerous provinces, including İzmir, Diyarbakır, Kayseri, Hatay, Rize, Sinop, Şırnak, and Yalova.
Yalova Police Chief Yılmaz Delen, who gave testimony as part of the Gülistan Doku investigation, was reassigned to the headquarters.
The Decree on Provincial Police Chiefs has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. 69 personnel changes were made in the central and provincial organizations. 24 provincial police chiefs were recalled to the headquarters, and the police chiefs of 39 provinces were changed.
Among those recalled to the headquarters is Hasan Yiğit, the Police Chief of Kahramanmaraş, where a school massacre took place. Anti-Terrorism Department Head Yusuf Topcan was appointed to replace the recalled Yalova Police Chief Yılmaz Delen.
Changes in Balıkesir, Kayseri, and Kahramanmaraş as well
Nevşehir Provincial Police Chief Serkan Karaman was appointed as the Balıkesir Provincial Police Chief. Balıkesir Provincial Police Chief Şükrü Yaman was reassigned to the General Directorate of Security headquarters.
Zonguldak Provincial Police Chief Sinan Ergen became the Kayseri Provincial Police Chief, while Kayseri Provincial Police Chief Atanur Aydın was recalled to the headquarters.
Bingöl Provincial Police Chief Beyti Kalaycı was appointed as the Kahramanmaraş Provincial Police Chief. Kahramanmaraş Provincial Police Chief Hasan Yiğit was reassigned to the General Directorate of Security headquarters.
Van Provincial Police Chief appointed as Diyarbakır Provincial Police Chief
Van Provincial Police Chief Murat Mutlu was assigned as the Diyarbakır Provincial Police Chief. While Diyarbakır Provincial Police Chief Nurettin Gökduman was reassigned to the General Directorate of Security headquarters, Çankırı Provincial Police Chief Aytekin Canıtez was appointed as the Van Provincial Police Chief. The new Provincial Police Chief of Çankırı became Kütahya Provincial Police Chief Osman Elbir. Chief Police Inspector Arif Hakan Tandoğan was brought to the Kütahya Provincial Police Department.
24 reassignments to headquarters
With the decree, the current police chiefs of 24 provinces were reassigned to the General Directorate of Security headquarters.
Afyonkarahisar Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Birtan Erol, Amasya Provincial Police Chief Ayhan Saraç, Aydın Provincial Police Chief Armağan Adnan Erdoğan, Balıkesir Provincial Police Chief Şükrü Yaman, Bartın Provincial Police Chief Hüseyin Adatepe, Bitlis Provincial Police Chief Koray Şensoy, Burdur Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Kurt, and Çorum Provincial Police Chief Arif Pehlivan were among these names.
Denizli Provincial Police Chief Yavuz Sağdıç, Diyarbakır Provincial Police Chief Nurettin Gökduman, Erzincan Provincial Police Chief Zafer Baybaba, Hatay Provincial Police Chief Rüştü Yılmaz, Iğdır Provincial Police Chief Niyazi Turgay, and İzmir Provincial Police Chief Celal Sel were also recalled to the General Directorate of Security headquarters.
Kahramanmaraş Provincial Police Chief Hasan Yiğit, Karabük Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Canver, Kayseri Provincial Police Chief Atanur Aydın, Kırklareli Provincial Police Chief Sinan Çamuroğlu, Kilis Provincial Police Chief Aykut Korkmaz, Muş Provincial Police Chief Melih Kuzudişli, Rize Provincial Police Chief Murat Türesin, Sinop Provincial Police Chief Sibel Kılıçoğlu, Şırnak Provincial Police Chief Volkan Sazak, and Yalova Provincial Police Chief Yılmaz Delen were also among those recalled to the headquarters.
Ali Rıza Çataldağ was appointed to the vacant position of Deputy General Manager of R&D Incentives at the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Fatih Dulkan was brought to the position of Vice President of the Turkish Space Agency.
Changes were also made at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. While Bingöl Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mehmet Fatih Aktay was removed from his post, Hikmet Güneş was appointed to this position. İzmir Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Mustafa Şahin was appointed as Deputy General Manager of Agricultural Reform, and Kahraman Akdoğan was assigned to the İzmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.
