Attention ChatGPT users: It has now started appearing in Turkey as well

The advertisements that OpenAI has started displaying within ChatGPT have begun to appear for users in Turkey as well. The company had initially launched the practice, which it implemented in August, in 31 European countries.

The advertisements appear directly within chat responses, particularly for accounts using ChatGPT without a subscription. This creates a new advertising space on the platform similar to the experience of search, recommendations, and referrals.

One of OpenAI's new steps on the advertising front is the "Sponsored Agents" application. In this model, users will be able to choose to initiate a conversation with a business-sponsored and clearly labeled agent after seeing an advertisement during a chat.

In these conversations, users will be able to detail the topics they need, ask additional questions, and click on a link that directs them to the relevant business's website when they are ready. This move by OpenAI shows that ChatGPT will be positioned not only as a tool that generates responses but also as a commercial referral channel.
