Foldable iPhone is coming: The price will be jaw-dropping

SALES DATE MAY BE DELAYED

According to information provided by the technology portal CNET, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that Apple might follow a path similar to the 2017 iPhone X launch for the foldable iPhone.

According to this scenario, even if the device is introduced in September, its release for sale could remain for later months of the year, or even 2027.

Fixed Focus Digital, known for their posts on the China-based social media platform Weibo, claimed that Apple initially targeted a production of 10 million units. It was alleged that reaching the desired production level could take 3 to 5 months and that the assembly speed could be 30 to 40 percent lower compared to the iPhone 17.

It was stated that this situation could cause supply issues after the device is released to the market.

EXPECTED PRICE MAY REACH 2,500 DOLLARS

It has been suggested that the starting price of the foldable iPhone could be between 2,000 and 2,500 dollars.

Despite the high price expectation, IDC analysts estimate that global foldable phone sales could grow by 19 percent with Apple's entry into the foldable iPhone market. It is estimated that Apple could capture approximately a 24 percent share of this market.

WILL BE DESIGNED IN BOOK FORM

According to leaks, Apple's new model will be in a book form that opens horizontally, unlike flip phones that close vertically.

According to analysts' estimates, the device will have a 5.5-inch external screen when closed and a 7.8-inch internal screen when fully opened.

The thickness of the phone when open is expected to be between 4.5 and 4.8 millimeters, and between 9 and 9.5 millimeters when closed.

TOUCH ID INSTEAD OF FACE ID CLAIM

It has been suggested that the Face ID system might not be used due to the device's thin body structure. Instead, it was stated that Touch ID technology integrated into the power button might be preferred.

Mark Gurman from Bloomberg argued that the foldable iPhone would not have a free multi-window system like iPad models, but would instead offer a structure that allows applications to be used side-by-side.

5,500 MAH BATTERY CLAIM

On the camera side, the device is expected to have two rear cameras. It was suggested that the front camera could work both on the external screen used when the device is folded and on the internal screen used when the phone is fully opened.

One of the most striking claims among the hardware features was the battery capacity. It was claimed that the foldable iPhone could be released with a 5,500 mAh capacity battery and that this would be the highest capacity battery used in an iPhone.

According to analyst Jeff Pu's investor notes, the iPhone 18 series is also expected to be equipped with 12 GB of RAM along with the foldable iPhone.
