New claims for iPhone Air 2: A20 Pro chip, dual camera, and smaller Dynamic Island on the agenda

New claims have emerged regarding the second generation of Apple's thin-design-focused iPhone Air series. According to information attributed to investment analyst Jeff Pu, the iPhone Air 2 is being prepared with comprehensive updates aimed at addressing some of the shortcomings criticized in the first model.

According to the shared information, the device is expected to be introduced in the first quarter of 2027. It is suggested that the model will be powered by the A20 Pro chip, which is stated to be produced using TSMC's 2 nm manufacturing process. It is also stated that the same processor could be used in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max models.

EXPECTATIONS FOR CHANGES IN CAMERA AND SCREEN

One of the prominent topics in the leaks is the camera system. The fact that the first-generation iPhone Air came with a single rear camera was criticized. It is claimed that a 48 MP resolution ultra-wide-angle camera will be used in the new model in addition to the main camera. This change is considered a step that could bring the device closer to the Pro models, especially in wide-angle shots and landscape photography.

On the screen side, it is stated that the panel size will be maintained and the device will come with a 6.5-inch screen, just like its predecessor. In contrast, it is suggested that the Dynamic Island structure will be reduced in size. Among the claims are that the 18 MP resolution for the front camera and 12 GB of RAM for memory will be retained.

It is also stated that new Apple-branded components could be used in connectivity technologies. According to the claims, the iPhone Air 2 will feature the N2 chip for wireless connections. This chip is expected to provide improvements in AirDrop transfers and Personal Hotspot performance by building on the N1 in the first generation.

There is also talk that the device may include the C2 modem and updates aimed at better battery performance. However, no official statement has been made by Apple regarding the iPhone Air 2; therefore, it is noted that these technical details may change until the launch.
