Price hike claim for iPhone 18 Pro: RAM crisis and chip costs could drive up the increase

A claim regarding a price hike for Apple's upcoming Pro iPhone models has emerged. According to analyst Jeff Pu's assessment, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max could be significantly more expensive compared to the current Pro series.

The price increase is expected to be in the range of 250 to 300 dollars. The factors behind this scenario are cited as increased component demand due to artificial intelligence investments, a squeeze in global memory supply, rising DRAM/NAND prices, and 2 nm chip costs.

In the current landscape, the starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro is 1,099 dollars, while the starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 1,199 dollars. If the alleged increase occurs, it is stated that the iPhone 18 Pro could approach the 1,350-1,400 dollar band, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max could approach the 1,550-1,600 dollar band.

The price hike claim is not currently based on an official statement. Apple has not made any announcement regarding the pricing of the iPhone 18 Pro series. However, the cost pressure experienced globally in memory and storage components continues to be a significant agenda item for smartphone manufacturers.

The potential price hike could be felt more severely in markets like Turkey, where the tax burden and exchange rate effects are directly reflected in the final retail price.
