Fenerbahçe drew 1-1 at home against Italian side Roma in the first week of the UEFA Champions League. Speaking to the press after the match, Fenerbahçe's English footballer Archie Brown learned of manager İsmail Kartal's resignation upon being asked about it and expressed his surprise. Brown stated that he was unaware of the resignation.

"I am happy to have been able to contribute"

Speaking about his performance and the goal he scored in the match, the English footballer said, "All glory to God. We want to move forward in a good... in a good way, of course. When asked about the difference in Fenerbahçe's play between the first and second halves and what was discussed in the locker room, Archie Brown said, "We acted with confidence. We came out for the second half with confidence. Of course, we understood the spaces, which gaps we needed to use, which areas we needed to use; we became more aware of this and we executed it. Because you have to do what is necessary on the pitch to gain an advantage over the opponent in the second half. And we did that. Sometimes it can take 45 minutes to get into the game, to join the game. But we gained good momentum in the second half," he concluded.
