Beşiktaş initiates legal action against Tahir Kum over Dusan Vlahovic post
Beşiktaş has announced that it will take legal action against Tahir Kum, who announced the claim that Dusan Vlahovic was penalized by the PFDK before the official statement was released.
Beşiktaş Club has announced that it has initiated legal proceedings against journalist Tahir Kum due to his post regarding a one-match suspension allegedly given to its player Dusan Vlahovic by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK).
In the statement made by the club, it was claimed that Kum announced the aforementioned penalty on his social media account 1 hour and 40 minutes before any notification was made through official channels. Beşiktaş argued that this post carried the risk of causing harm to the club, the player, and investors.
The statement reminded that Beşiktaş Futbol A.Ş. operates under the umbrella of a publicly traded company and stated that the post could also affect investors holding company shares.
The club's statement included the following remarks:
“Initiatives have been launched to settle accounts before the law with Tahir Kum, a disgrace to journalism, in order to protect the rights of our club, our player Dusan Vlahovic, and our investors.”
In its statement, Beşiktaş also alleged that Kum targeted Vlahovic both in the media outlet he is affiliated with and on his social media account. The club did not share additional information regarding the detailed schedule of the legal process.
