It was reported that the 40-year-old forward has traveled to Germany to complete official procedures and undergo medical examinations. Dzeko is expected to sign the contract after his medical checks and join team training on Tuesday.
According to reports in the German press, negotiations between Schalke and Dzeko took longer than planned, but the parties have reached a 1-year agreement. It was stated that the experienced player will receive a guaranteed annual salary of 900 thousand euros, a figure that could rise to 1.3 million euros with performance-based bonuses.
Dzeko had moved to Schalke during the winter transfer window after spending the first half of last season at Fiorentina. Making an impact in a short time at the German club, the striker contributed directly to 9 goals, recording 6 goals and 3 assists in 11 matches.
