Galatasaray defeated Trendyol 1st League side Ümraniyespor 5-2 in a friendly match.
Galatasaray, the reigning champion of the Trendyol Super League, played its first friendly match as part of its new season preparations against 1st League team Ümraniyespor at the Ümraniye City Stadium. The match was officiated by referee Melih Aldemir. Aldemir was assisted by Göktuğ Hazer Erel and Mücahit Arda Çelebi. The fourth official of the match was Safa Yılmaz.
The yellow-reds left the pitch with a 5-2 victory, with goals scored by Berkan Kutlu in the 7th minute, Nicolo Zaniolo in the 33rd minute, Derrick Köhn in the 58th minute, Metehan Baltacı in the 68th minute, and Ada Yüzgeç in the 85th minute. Ümraniyespor's goals were scored by Cebio Soukou in the 11th and 63rd minutes.
Galatasaray started the match with the following starting eleven: Jankat Yılmaz, Ali Turap Bülbül, Carlos Cuesta, Victor Nelsson, Kazımcan Karataş, Lucas Torreira, Berkan Kutlu, Nicolo Zaniolo, Yusuf Demir, Derrick Köhn, and Çağrı Balta.
In the second half, Gabriel Sara, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Arda Ünyay, Metehan Baltacı, Efe Akman, Ada Yüzgeç, Berat Luş, Furkan Koçak, Gökdeniz Gürpüz, İsa Halidi, and Berat Yılmaz were brought into the game.
Ümraniyespor took the field with the starting eleven of Cihan Topaloğlu, Yusuf Saitoğlu, Tomislav Glumac, Yusuf Kocatürk, Berat Fidan, Atalay Babacan, Emirhan Balarısı, Jurgen Bardhi, Benny, Cebio Soukou, and Batuhan Çelik.
Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek and members of the yellow-red board of directors followed the match from the protocol tribune. Former footballer Mesut Özil also watched the match from the stands. Before the match, President Dursun Özbek and Mesut Özil shook hands.
Fans showed great interest in the friendly match played between Ümraniyespor and Galatasaray. Fans of both teams filled the sections allocated to them at the Ümraniye City Stadium.
Galatasaray fans chanted for the transfer of Nigerian footballer Victor Osimhen, who played for the team on loan last season. The yellow-red fans expressed their desire for this transfer by chanting 'The fans have gone crazy, they want Osimhen' from time to time during the match.
