Galatasaray assistant coach Garcia: Turkish football will be the most affected by what happened

Spanish national Garcia, in an interview with Spain's Cadena Ser radio, said, "Ultimately, it is a situation that causes Turkish football to have a very bad image. It is a shame. Because the fights and incidents that have occurred this season reflect people's image of Turkish football. Turkish football is trying to grow, but these types of things make everything difficult."

Stating that there was a very beautiful contest in terms of football between Galatasaray and Fenerbahçe, and that despite this being what should be discussed, other things outside of football are being talked about, Garcia said, "This is one of the areas that needs to be addressed in the development of football in Turkey. Turkish football will be the most affected by what happened."

The yellow-reds' Spanish assistant coach assessed, "For us, it is a trophy after all, and we are happy because we won a trophy. Even though the success achieved in this final was not as we wanted, we are happy because we won the trophy in the end. I believe that what is ideal for football is that this match should have been played as it was supposed to be."

Regarding a question about Galatasaray finding a goal in the very first minute of the match and being 1-0 ahead before their arch-rival left the pitch, Garcia replied, "Given the situation, I attach very little value to this because it would have ended in a different way."
