Aziz Yıldırım breaks his silence on Ali Koç's stadium project! 'When the time comes...'
Former Fenerbahçe president Aziz Yıldırım has broken his silence regarding the stadium project announced by the Ali Koç administration at the High Council Meeting.
Former Fenerbahçe president Aziz Yıldırım has shared his assessments regarding the stadium project of the current Ali Koç administration, following statements made by former vice president Nihat Özbağı, with whom he worked in the past.
Stating that he understands Özbağı's reaction, Yıldırım said, "Nihat Özbağı spent significant time and money on the stadium project before the election. He conducted work both domestically and abroad. This project was presented as an election promise. It is natural for Mr. Nihat to feel slighted that the current administration did not mention the process at all while presenting this project."
Speaking to the platform called Kale Arkası, Yıldırım expressed that he does not harbor any resentment or personal sensitivity toward the project, stating, "I have no hard feelings. I wish they would build the stadium for Fenerbahçe immediately. That is my thought, I would be happy. I wish they would start right away, but the administration should build the stadium with its own means, by creating resources, and without going into debt," he said, revealing his positive approach to the current project.
Yıldırım also argued that the statements made regarding the club's financial situation do not reflect the truth, using the expression, "There are incorrect statements regarding financial matters; I will make a statement on these issues when the time comes."
WHAT DID NİHAT ÖZBAĞI SAY?
Nihat Özbağı, who served as vice president during the Aziz Yıldırım era at Fenerbahçe, had made assessments regarding the stadium project, which was brought to the agenda at the club's High Council Meeting and is planned to have its capacity increased to 64,160 people. Reminding that the project was prepared during the Aziz Yıldırım era, Özbağı had stated, "This stadium project was our project. They asked for the project from Aziz Yıldırım. If we had won the congress, we would have built the stadium out of our own pockets. The current administration presented the stadium as if they had built it themselves. However, the project belongs entirely to Aziz Yıldırım. President Aziz was very saddened during this process. He entrusted the project, but what happened was not what he expected."
