Following the derby in which Galatasaray defeated Fenerbahçe 2-1, manager Okan Buruk clarified his remarks regarding the championship race during his post-match assessment.
Buruk apologized for omitting Amedspor while listing the teams in the race, emphasizing that the Diyarbakır-based club is also in contention.
When I said the four big teams are in the race, I forgot Amedspor, I apologize; they are also in the race, and I congratulate them as well.
Highlighting the importance of the derby victory, Buruk noted that the season is not yet over. Reminding that Galatasaray maintains its lead, the experienced manager pointed out that they have an away match against Konya, a Champions League game, and a match against Amedspor ahead of them.
My players played the derby in the best way possible. It is an important victory. We won a match, we won a derby, but we haven't won anything yet. Our lead continues, but the Konya away game will be difficult again, there is the Champions League, and there is the Amedspor match.
Buruk stated that his team spread out correctly on the pitch, found space through rotations in the first half, and created numerous chances with line-breaking passes. Evaluating the match as one of the games they played with superiority this season, Buruk argued that the score could have been different.
