Referees for Turkey-France match announced: Name criticized by Okan Buruk is in the VAR room

The officiating team for the Nations League Group A match between the Turkish National Football Team and France has been announced. German referee Felix Zwayer will officiate the match, which will kick off at 21:45 on Friday, September 25, at Kocaeli Stadium.

The most notable name in UEFA's appointment is Christian Dingert, who has been assigned to the VAR room. The German referee previously made headlines after Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk criticized him with harsh words.

Following Galatasaray's 3-1 defeat to Sporting, Buruk said of VAR referee Dingert: "There was an indisputable red card in the Sporting match. I forgot the name of the referee who didn't call [the main referee to the monitor]. Dingert, well, some called him a jerk [dingil], but we call him Dingert. If it were me, I would end that German referee's career."

While Felix Zwayer will be in charge on the pitch for the Turkey-France match, VAR reviews for critical incidents will be under the responsibility of Christian Dingert.
