The Ministry of Youth and Sports has issued a statement regarding reports that a legal process has been initiated against the Galatasaray Club on the grounds that the annual contribution fee for amateur sports has not been paid.
In the Ministry's statement, it was noted that the process is not based on any discretion or special application, and it was expressed that the proceedings are being carried out in accordance with the provisions of the contract and the relevant legislation.
"The process in question concerns the collection of the amateur sports contribution fee arising from the provisions of the contract signed between our Ministry and the Galatasaray Sports Club, and it is a routine legal process carried out within the framework of legal obligations arising from the contract and the pursuit of public receivables."
The statement further emphasized the need to inform the public accurately, noting that the actions taken by the Ministry were carried out "in accordance with the relevant contract provisions and legislation."
The process concerns the annual amateur sports contribution fee that must be paid under the usage rights protocol for the Seyrantepe Sports Complex. It had been reported that the Ministry initiated enforcement proceedings against Galatasaray for the collection of this fee.
