Surprise invitation from Aziz Yıldırım to Ali Koç

A notable development is reportedly set to take place regarding the Maltepe project, which is currently on the agenda at Fenerbahçe. According to the claims, President Aziz Yıldırım will invite Ali Koç, who served as president between June 2018 and September 2025, to the club headquarters this week.

It is stated that the meeting will address the extent to which Koç could be involved in the Maltepe project. Depending on Koç's response, the inclusion of former executive Hakan Safi in the process and the execution of the project through a consortium consisting of the three individuals may be on the table.

Journalist Sercan Hamzaoğlu, in his assessment of the matter, stated: "Mr. Aziz Yıldırım will call Ali Koç this week and invite him to the club headquarters. They will discuss how much Ali Koç will be involved in the Maltepe project. Depending on the answer from Ali Koç, they may include Hakan Safi in this project as well and carry out this work as a triple consortium."

Yıldırım and Koç had also made headlines with their dialogue during Fenerbahçe's High Council Meeting in October 2025. At that meeting, Yıldırım told Koç, "Forget me," to which Koç replied, "I am very saddened by your health, may God help you."
