Taner Bildik's harsh reaction to PFDK penalties: Turkish football is dead!

The penalties imposed by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) on Beşiktaş and its executives due to statements made following the Alanyaspor match have drawn backlash.

The PFDK issued a 3.5 million TL fine to Beşiktaş and imposed a 15-day ban on President Serdal Adalı. Executive Hakan Daltaban was handed a 20-day ban and a 2.5 million TL fine.

The justification for the penalties was cited as "statements aimed at damaging the reputation of Turkish football and its institutions." The decisions were taken by majority vote.

Bildik stated: "One must ask these gentlemen in ties; have you left any reputation in Turkish football? Your world-famous star is slapped on the pitch, and no penalty is issued. Your goal is disallowed, your penalties are not called, and you feel your three points have been extorted. When club executives voice these issues, they are fined for 'damaging our reputation.' What do you expect them to do? Should they say, 'Come and slap us too?'" he remarked.

Evaluating the events with the proverb "The brazen thief suppresses the homeowner," Bildik argued that the avenues for clubs to seek justice are being blocked:

"A thief enters your house and steals your property. When you shout 'There is a thief,' you are fined for 'damaging our reputation.' Where are the clubs supposed to explain the injustice done to them? Who are they supposed to complain to? The only path left to them is to speak to the public, and they are being punished for that too."

Recalling that Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı said "I will be fined again" after his visit to the TFF, Bildik also drew attention to Adalı's statements regarding the MHK management.

Bildik said, "If the TFF President and his management cannot touch the MHK President, then they must explain to the Turkish football public where this immunity comes from."

Arguing that the real problem in Turkish football is not the statements of the executives but the management approach, Bildik continued:

"Those who talk about the brand value of Turkish football should first look at the football climate they have created themselves. With referee controversies, incompetence, lack of trust, and files emerging regarding betting, punishing club executives who speak out solves nothing."

Bildik concluded his words with the following statements:

"In such a corrupt football environment where trust has been lost, we expect success from Turkish teams in Europe. We must first clean up our own football. Football in Turkey has ceased to be football. If this mentality does not change, Turkish football is dead. Rest in peace."
