Turkey's visa reciprocity table: Discrepancies in practices with 97 countries

Recent data regarding the Turkish passport has revealed that the principle of reciprocity in visa practices operates differently with a large number of countries. According to data from Passport Reports on the passports of 199 countries, there is a reciprocity gap between Turkey and 97 countries in terms of entry requirements.

The report states that citizens of 46 countries can enter Turkey visa-free, with an electronic travel authorization, or through facilitated methods such as visa-on-arrival; conversely, Turkish citizens are required to obtain a visa to travel to these same countries.

This group includes countries such as the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, China, Israel, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Greece.

On the other side of the table, there are 51 countries. While citizens of these countries are subject to visas when entering Turkey, holders of Turkish passports can enter these countries visa-free, with an electronic travel authorization, or with a visa-on-arrival option.

Egypt, Kenya, Palestine, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda are among the countries listed in this category.

Thus, according to the report, when the 46 countries where entry into Turkey is easier are evaluated alongside the 51 countries that grant easier entry to Turkish citizens, the reciprocity gap in visa practices reaches a total of 97 countries.
