Allegation of 47 thousand lira worth of products in Nişantaşı: Painter released

Legal action was taken against painter Dem Sevinç K., who was alleged to have walked out of a store in Nişantaşı, Istanbul, with 24 items worth a total of 47 thousand 860 lira without paying.

It was stated that the incident occurred on August 17 at around 13:40. It was reported that store employees noticed the situation and stopped Dem Sevinç K. at the door, and police teams were dispatched to the area upon notification. While the products were returned to the store, store officials filed a complaint.

It was learned that in her statement at the Harbiye Police Station, where she was taken by police teams, Dem Sevinç K. said, "I was waiting for my friend." It was also stated that K. said she wanted to pay for the products.

During the police investigation, it was determined that the suspect had been involved in a similar incident at the same store before, but that store employees had not filed a complaint in that instance.

Legal action was taken against Dem Sevinç K. for the crime of "theft from a workplace." It was also determined that the suspect had previously been processed in connection with an incident in 2021 involving the theft of money from the bag of her friend, T.Ö. Following the statement procedures, K. was released under the instruction of the prosecutor's office.
