The YENİ Party provincial primary in Artvin has concluded. Founding Provincial Chair and lawyer Bedrettin Kalın finished the race in first place, receiving 2,023 votes. Accountant Okan Ersöz received 1,695 votes.
A total of 3,756 votes were cast in ballot boxes set up across nine districts in Artvin. 41 of the votes were deemed invalid. According to unofficial results, Kalın finished 328 votes ahead of his rival, Ersöz.
In the three ballot boxes in the center of Artvin, Okan Ersöz received 592 votes, while Bedrettin Kalın received 376. However, the picture changed in favor of Kalın in the districts; Kalın emerged from the non-central ballot boxes with 1,647 votes, compared to 1,103 for Ersöz.
EMPHASIS ON UNITY FROM KALIN
Speaking after the election results were announced, Bedrettin Kalın stated that the process was completed with democratic maturity and delivered a message of intra-party unity.
Kalın expressed that the race was completed in peace and tranquility, and called for working together in the upcoming period. Kalın also expressed his wish for Okan Ersöz to be by their side on "this path we will take together."
