Following the new sanctions package announced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on September 8, 2026, it has been reported that a ban has been imposed on flights to Turkey by the Iran-based Mahan Air.
It was stated that within the scope of the sanctions process announced under the name "Operation Economic Outcast," 36 targets were added to the sanctions list, and restrictions were imposed on all of Iran's active airline companies.
According to information from aviation sources, as a result of the aforementioned embargo decision, Mahan Air's flights to Turkey have been banned. It was reported that the decision has been officially notified to the relevant companies.
