FBI's intriguing statement on the alleged assassination attempt against Trump: 'An incident that appears to be an attempted assassination...'

In a statement from the FBI, it was reported that agents have deployed to West Palm Beach, Florida.

The statement used the phrase, "The FBI is investigating what appears to be an attempted assassination of former President Trump."

West Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw stated that a Secret Service agent noticed the barrel of a weapon protruding from the fence line and opened fire on the suspect.

HE WAS 500 METERS AWAY FROM TRUMP

Bradshaw provided information that they were able to apprehend the suspect thanks to a witness statement, noting that the armed individual was approximately 400-500 meters away from Trump.

Noting that the suspect had 2 backpacks and an action camera, Bradshaw stated that the suspect later dropped his weapon and fled by car.

Sharing the information that an AK-47 rifle was found in the bushes where the suspect had been, Bradshaw stated that if the current president were Trump, there would have been more Secret Service agents around him.

Pointing out that the areas the Secret Service can secure to provide protection are "limited," Bradshaw argued that the Secret Service performed its duty fully.

Martin County Sheriff William Snyder stated that the suspect did not have a weapon on him when he was apprehended.

JD Vance, whom Trump nominated as his running mate, also announced on the X social media platform that he had spoken with the former president "before the incident became public."

Vance stated that Trump was "in good spirits."

WHAT HAPPENED?

It was reported that former U.S. President and Republican Party 2024 presidential candidate Trump was safe following gunshots heard in the vicinity of his location in Florida.

Campaign communications director Steven Cheung had shared the information, "President Trump is safe following gunshots in his vicinity. There are no further details at this time."

A written statement from the White House also indicated that U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the security incident at the Trump International Golf Course where Trump was playing golf, stating that they were relieved to know he was safe and would continue to receive regular updates.

Trump's eldest son, Donald Trump Jr., had shared on his X account that local law enforcement found an AK-47 weapon in the bushes on the course after the incident and that a suspect had been apprehended.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM TRUMP

In an email to his supporters, Trump emphasized that he would "never give up," stating, "There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I am safe and well."

Former President Trump survived an assassination attempt during a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13 with a wound to his ear.
