The final poll released ahead of the general elections scheduled for October 27 in Israel points to a shift in political balance in favor of the opposition. According to the Channel 12 television poll, the bloc led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has fallen to 51 seats, losing 2 seats compared to the previous measurement.
In the poll, the bloc led by Yashar Party leader Gadi Eisenkot reached 55 seats. However, neither the Netanyahu bloc nor Eisenkot's bloc was able to reach the 61-seat threshold required to form a government in the 120-seat Israeli Parliament.
Eisenkot also stood out in the question regarding the preference for prime minister. While 44 percent of those who participated in the poll preferred Eisenkot for prime minister, support for Netanyahu remained at 33 percent.
Looking at the parties, the Yashar Party led by Gadi Eisenkot ranked first with 23 seats. Netanyahu's party, Likud, lost 2 seats and fell to 19 seats. The number of seats for the Together Party, led by Naftali Bennett, increased by 1 to 15.
According to the poll, the Amcha Yisrael Party, led by Ofer Winter, also passed the electoral threshold and won 4 seats. While the total number of seats for the opposition bloc was calculated as 69, it was stated that 55 of these belong to Zionist parties and 14 to Arab parties.
The results show that the race between the bloc led by Netanyahu and the opposition parties continues just days before the elections, while indicating that the majority threshold will continue to be the deciding factor in the arithmetic of forming a government.
