'Ghost gun' operation in Greece

In an operation conducted by the Northern Greece Organized Crime Division, 25 pistols hidden in a suitcase and numerous magazines were found during a search of a vehicle stopped in the Evros region.

It was determined that the seized weapons lacked manufacturer information and serial numbers. During the operation, mobile phones and SIM cards were also confiscated for examination. Two people were detained as part of the investigation. It was determined that the second suspect was the person organizing the delivery of the weapons.

International connections under investigation

Greek authorities stated that they believe the seized weapons were planned to be sent to organized crime groups with links to Turkey, and announced that the incident's connections to an international arms smuggling network are being investigated.

On the other hand, officials stated that it is extremely difficult to track such weapons.
