Following the armed attack in the Czech capital, Prague, the heads of EU institutions sent a message that Europe "stands with Czechia."

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen shared a post on the X social media platform following the armed attack at Charles University in the center of Prague, which left 15 people dead and many others injured.

"WE STAND WITH YOU"

Stating that she was horrified by the armed attack that caused the loss of many lives in Prague, von der Leyen said, "I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Czechia as a whole. We stand with you and we mourn."

European Parliament (EP) President Roberta Metsola also noted in a post on her X account, written in the Czech language, that she was horrified by the attack in Prague.

"TERRIBLE ATTACK"

Metsola stated, "It is heartbreaking to see one of Europe's oldest universities become a scene of terror. My thoughts are with the families of the victims, I wish a speedy recovery to the injured, Europe stands with Czechia." In a post on the X social media platform, European Council President Charles Michel also included the words, "I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims of the terrible attack in Prague. We must not leave room for such violence in our societies."

Leaders of European countries had condemned the armed attack carried out in the Czech capital, Prague.
