The swearing-in ceremony for the new Chair of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), Kevin Warsh, was held at the White House.

Attending the ceremony, US President Donald Trump continued his criticism of the Tehran administration and the negotiation process with Iran in his remarks.

Trump said, "Think about what we did in Venezuela. You see what we did to Iran. Iran is dying to make a deal. We'll see what happens. But we hit them hard. We had no other choice because Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon. They cannot have one."

"I told Xi, 'We have the world's greatest military'"

Referring to his official visit to China last week, Trump said, "I was with Chinese President Xi Jinping and I told him, 'We have the world's greatest military.' He didn't really object to that. I can tell you that we had a very good meeting."

Trump announced that the US possesses the world's largest military and that they will propose a 1.5 trillion dollar military budget.

Trump congratulates Warsh

Speaking about the economic successes achieved during his term and stating that there are no limits to the future of the US under the leadership of the new Fed Chair Warsh, Trump said, "Kevin has had an incredible start with his family, his education, his background, and everything he has done. He is someone who is respected by everyone. Having that level of respect is very important."

Following the US President's speech, the ceremony moved to the swearing-in portion. After taking the oath, Warsh delivered a short speech. Trump congratulated Warsh on his new position.

Warsh became the first Fed Chair to be sworn in at the White House since Alan Greenspan in 1987.
