Earthquakes measuring 5.7 and 7.4 magnitude occurred in western Japan.

Following the earthquake, a tsunami warning was issued for Russia's Sakhalin region. A statement from the Sakhalin Ministry of Emergency Situations indicated that the western parts of Sakhalin could be affected by tsunami waves.

STATEMENT FROM AFAD

A tsunami warning was issued in the region following consecutive earthquakes off the coast of Ishikawa Prefecture in western Japan. The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) made the following statement regarding the matter:

"A 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in Anamizu, Japan, today at 10:06. As of now, there has been no international call for assistance conveyed to our Presidency. We extend our get-well wishes to the friendly and brotherly Japanese people. We are monitoring the developments."
